Dubai World Game Expo Dubai World Game Expo is Middle East's distinguished trade exhibition devoted to computer games, game software, online gaming, mobile games, and game related hardware. Dubai World Game Expo (DWGE) 2009, organized by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions will occur this year at Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (DICEC). The expo will boast of many special events, game competition, presentation, and workshops. DWGE 2009 will take place together with Dubai International Character & Licensing Fair (Character Dubai 2009), the two entertainment exhibitions will be only of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Our company will attend the exhibition to further extend our business. This is a great opportunity to communicate with different game developers in Middle East and North Africa region. We will embrace that.

GDC China (First Annual Independent Games Festival Comes to China)
This year is the second year of GDC China. After 11 years of success at GDC San Francisco, the Independent Games Festival will take place at the 2009 Game Developers Conference China. Looking to encourage and foster the ever-growing independent games sector in Asia, IGF China will have three main elements:
- Independent Games Summit
- IGF Pavilion
- IGF Awards Ceremony
The festival, ceremony, and summit will all take place during GDC China.
As a Shanghai based outsourcing company, we will certainly be a part of this event. Seeing the continue growth of the game industry, we see the bright future of us as well.

Nintendo DS Leads All Consoles in June
The NPD Group report came out for the video game industry. According to the report the DS/DSi led in all console sales in June.
Nintendo continues to ride the top of the three console companies selling a total of 1128.2K units, which represents 60.9% of all consoles sold.
The Wii continues to lead all non-handheld platforms, even though sales were down comparing to June 2008. According to NPD analyst, Anita Frazier "While Wii sales are down from last year, the platform is still realizing very strong sales month after month. Compared against historical performance of other systems this far into the console lifecycle, the unit sales performance is still strong."
The below chart lists the consoles in sequence of units sold in June:

Chinese web game market keeps growing
According to research, Chinese web market is growing rapidly. In 2007, the market revenue is 100,000,000yuan, in 2008, it grown to 350,000,000. In 2009, it has already up to 510,000,000. The speed of growth is up to 20% per year. At this speed, the market revenue will reach 1.44 billion in 2010. It’s a rapid growing industry. Some good Chinese local web game developers have gain success and reputation though their games.

GDC San Francisco
The 2009 Game Developers Conference, held at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, saw attendance of more than 17,000.
That figure was released by conference organizer Think Services, which pointed to the results as indicative of the overall industry's fundamental strength.
"The success of this past week in San Francisco proves the resilience of the games industry," said event director Meggan Scavio. "It is a testament to the spirit of our more than 20 year old conference and community, and evidence of video games' continued evolution into a mainstream form of entertainment, that the various constituents of the industry were able come together at GDC as they did last year."
Our company attended this big event as well, and happy to be part of the 17,000. This is the world’s largest professionals-only game industry event, it is the essential forum for learning, inspiration, and networking for the creators of computer, console, handheld, mobile, and online games. Our company definitely learned a lot though this event.

Games Market/Game Development and Outsourcing in China
According to an exclusive 120+ page report from Pearl Research, the Chinese games market is expected to exceed $1.3 billion in 2008. China is emerging as a development and outsourcing destination due to its low cost structure, large labor force and robust infrastructure. The same report says that game companies may achieve between 20 and 40 percent cost savings from outsourcing such development duties as artwork and high-definition requirements, among other work.

UK Digital Games Trade Visit
UK Trade and Investment, the British Government organization launched a series of exciting events in Shanghai this July. The mission of these events is to explore the China market in digital games industry and to help the UK companies to make industry-wide contacts with Chinese companies in order to enhance the cooperation between the UK and Chinese games industries.
Shanghai AFM Technology Co. has joined these events with pleasure. We met many industry professionals and specialists and made nice friends there. It’s a good opportunity for us to demonstrate our products and technologies and to establish relationships with the UK companies. UK Trade and Investment, the British Government organization launched a series of exciting events in Shanghai this July. The mission of these events is to explore the China market in digital games industry and to help the UK companies to make industry-wide contacts with Chinese companies in order to enhance the cooperation between the UK and Chinese games industries.
